NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
JANUARY 8, 2018 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, January 8, 2018. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s Report, and the SCKSEC minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included a Legislative Update. She also reported on upcoming meeting and events and that she, Dave Schmidt and a teacher to be named will meet with KASB on January 17, 2018 to discuss health insurance.

Gracie Bricker, Kayley Cook, Ryan Kinsler and Kami McComb gave a presentation on the FFA National Convention they attended in October 2017.

Becca Flowers and Herb McPherson reported on their buildings’ activities.

The Board had a first read on a proposed Board Policy update.

The Board approved to implement High School Softball and Baseball for the 2018/19 school year and to hire Diane House to begin upon approval for licensure as the K-12 Assistant Principal to complete the remainder of the 2017/18 school year, and K-6 Principal and 7-12 Assistant Principal beginning July 1, 2018.

The next meeting will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
