NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
NOVEMBER 13, 2017 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, November 13, 2017. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s Report, and the SCKSEC October minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included the KSDE REDESIGN Project, KESA and upcoming special luncheons.

The Board approved contract with Tiffany Zimmerman as a Teacher’s Aid and approved the resignation of Amanda Collins. Kimberly Tritt was also appointed as the new District Treasurer.

The Board heard a report from Herb McPherson on the proposal to add High School Baseball and Softball in the 2018-19 school year. They also heard information on consideration of a new teacher aide position that will also be shared with SCKSEC.

The following KESA goals were accepted as goal areas for the current accreditation cycle: Relationship/Students, Relationships/Community, Relevance/Instruction and Relevance/Student Engagement.

Becca Flowers and Herb McPherson reported on their buildings’ activities.

The next meeting will be Monday, December 11, 2017 at 8:00 p.m.
