NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
SEPTEMBER 11, 2017 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, September 11, 2017. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s Report, PDC Reports and the SCKSEC August minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included the Kansas Supreme Court Decision, preliminary 2017/18 Enrollment, KSDE REDISIGN Project and KESA.

The Board approved contracts with Roy Haines, Bus Driver, Brad Pagenkopf as Driver’s Education Instructor, Cheri Haskett as Head HS Play Director and Kristi Nelson as Asst. HS Play Director, Sara Lewton as Student & Family Support Coordinator, Chris Sanders as HS Asst. Boys Basketball Coach and Don Buhler as a Library Aide. The Board also accepted Tom Garland’s resignation as a Bus Driver.

The Board heard a report from Stan Busby of Busby Ford & Reimer, LLC on the FY2017 Audit, and heard a report from Diane House on the KS BOE Outcomes and Individual Plan of Study for all HS students.

Updates were reported on the summer projects and concerns with getting workers to take high school football gate.

The next meeting will be Monday, October 9, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.
