NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
MAY 8, 2017 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, May 8, 2017. Routine business included approval of minutes, payment of bills, Treasurer’s report, PDC Reports and the SCKSEC April minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers. Her report included a Legislative update and a schedule of the end of year activities.

The Board approved contracts with Harmony Harts as elementary teacher. The Board also accepted Bjorn Halderson’s resignation as elementary teacher effective May 23, 2017 and Dan Kemmis’s resignation as Director of Maintenance effective June 30, 2017. The Board also approved the Classified and the amended Certified Staff Lists for 2017-2018.

The Board heard a Principal Report from Becca Flowers.

The Board accepted the bid from Mahaney Roofing to replace the gym roof and approved the following work projects: gym floor repair, pre-school playground, football field sprinkler system and maintenance of the football field grass. The Board also agreed to the sale of the maintenance pickup and blade. We will then purchase a tractor for snow removal.

The Board approved a gift from the Skyline Schools Foundation of a new outdoor Scoreboard for the football field. Upcoming Board of Educations elections were also discussed.

It was approved to have the MS/HS schedule return to a traditional semester schedule for 2017-18 and to hold a public hearing on our participation in the Pratt County Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.

The next meeting will be Monday, June 12 2017 at 6:30 a.m.
