NEWS RELEASE FROM THE
BOARD OF EDUCATION
JUNE 13, 2016 REGULAR MEETING
FOR THE SKYLINE STAFF AND PATRONS

The Skyline Board of Education met in regular session Monday, June 13, 2016 and reconvened on June 29, 2016. Routine business included payment of bills, Treasurer’s report, and the SCKSEC Minutes.

The first item of business was the Superintendent’s report from Becca Flowers on the current Legislative report.

Becca Flowers and Herb McPherson presented building reports. Dave Schmidt gave an update on the removal of the Underground Storage Tank. We also heard information on the recent problems with our HVAC Controls and our purchase of a used school bus.

The Board approved PDC reports for: College Courses: Cheri Haskett (10).

New Business included information on Capital Outlay projects: Roofs, flooring, HVAC units and transportation; information on E-Rate funding for 2016-17; the appointment to fill our current vacancy on the Board of Education; preparation for a statewide, court ordered closure of schools; and a new personnel organizational chart. The Board approved the proposed school fees for 2016-17 and the proposed maximum transfers.

The Board approved the following resignations: Cheryl Nash, Second Grade Teacher and Andrew Nation as the Middle School and High School Boys Weights and Conditioning Coach. They approved a contract with Kenny Eddy as Middle School and High School Boys Weights and Conditioning Coach effective July 1, 2016.

The next meeting will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.
